Roger P. Asch

Roger P. Asch was admitted to the practice of law in Maine in 1980. Clients who work with Roger P. Asch benefit from his experience in accounting as well as law. He graduated magna cum laude from Boston University School of Management with a major in accounting and worked for a small Boston-based regional accounting firm prior to entering law school. It was then that he sat for the CPA certification exam and passed the complete five-part (two and a half day) exam in one sitting. Roger obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Boston College Law School and his Masters of Legal Letter (L.L.M.) in taxation from Boston University School of Law. In between, he worked for a general practice law firm in Bath, Maine. Upon completion, he worked as a tax specialist in the Portland office of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. and later as an associate with the Lewiston, Maine law firm of Platz & Thompson, P.A.

Roger P. Asch is a member in good standing of the Cumberland County Bar Association, the Maine Bar Association (including its sections of taxation, elder law, and trusts and estates), the Maine Estate Planning Council, and the American Bar Association (including its sections of real property, probate and trust, and taxation), and a past member of the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants (and its taxation committee).

Roger grew up in the Boston area. His father and uncle owned and operated Shrut & Asch Leather Co. in the Boston leather district, which specialized in producing leather for women’s shoes and accessories. His summer boyhood years were spent in Maine where he attended Camp Manitou in Oakland, Maine.

Roger & Kids

Currently, Roger resides in Portland, Maine and is the proud father of three grown children, each of whom graduated from The Waynflete School in Portland. Roger is active in the Greater Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce, Portland Rotary, and a member of BNI. Roger is a member of the Temple Beth El Brotherhood, a past member of the Board of Directors for the Children’s Museum of Maine and its executive committee, and a past chairman of the Board of Trustees for 75 State Street. In his leisure time, Roger enjoys tennis and golf.
